KashrusBase began inside working kashrus operations. Scheduling mashgichim, following up on reports, issuing and renewing certificates, invoicing establishments and paying staff — each part of the work needed tools that understood it, and general-purpose software was never designed for it.
So it was built for that work: around establishments and facilities, around mashgichim and shochtim in the field, around certificates the public relies on — and around the rabbonim whose standards the whole operation exists to uphold.
Today KashrusBase is built to serve many agencies: one maintained foundation that each agency configures around its own procedures, with its records kept entirely separate from every other agency's.
